KOBASHI ELEMI OIL 100% Pure

LATIN NAME: Canarium luzonicum.
SOURCE: Steamed distilled from the gum/resin
COLOUR: Clear to yellow tint
ORIGIN: Philippines
AROMA: Fresh, warm, sweet, spicy and with lemon like woody notes

QUALITIES: Like Frankincense it has a tonic and stimulating action on the system. Useful skin care oil - ideal for mature skin (claimed to have rejuvenating qualities). It is also helpful for blemished and scarred or injured skin. It is a useful oil for use during the winter months, especially when feeling 'snufly' and 'bunged' up. Use in a relaxing massage blend. Vaporize to create a calming, soothing, spiritual atmosphere. Used in soaps, and as a fixative in fragrances.

It has a long history of use in medicinal and cosmetic formulas. The ancient Egyptians used Elemi in preparations used during the embalming process.

A member of the Burseraceae family, it is a tall tropical tree native to the Philippine Islands, known locally as "Pili". By making incisions into the bark the resinous gum is collected. The gum is only produced during the rainy season when the leaves start to develop.
